Industrial Hemp Pilot Program

In Missouri, entities wishing to grow hemp must do so through the Industrial Hemp Pilot Program. The Missouri Department of Agriculture expects the proposed rules regarding industrial hemp to come into effect on July 30, 2019. This would allow grower and handler applications to come online fall of 2019.

A lot of work can be done in preparation for hemp applications before the licensing process even opens. For assistance navigating the Missouri industrial hemp application process, contact the attorneys at Leaf Legal, P.C.

The proposed critical dates, which are still subject to change, are as follows:

  • September 3, 2019: Industrial Hemp Pilot Program grower and handler applications available online.
  • October 31, 2019: Grower and handler applications approved and applicants will be notified.
  • November 30, 2019: Registration fees due from handlers and approved growers.
